How to deshell an external hard drive. How to shuck an external hard drive.

Every now and then, you come across something that sounds way too good to be true, but against the odds, it actually works. Buying cheap external hard drives, cracking them open, and getting more expensive hard drives for your effort is one of those things. External hard drives are offered in very large capacities these days. Strange as it may seem, it's often cheaper to purchase an external hard drive and take the drive inside out of it, than it is to purchase the drive inside on its own. Here's what you need to know: The best drives for shucking are the following large capacity drives, buy which ever brand you trust the most, or the one that has the cheapest deal at the time. Drobo 4D Review in 2018

Image
I recently purchased the Drobo 4D . It is a beyondRAID storage devices which houses up to 4 Hard Drives. It's great for having redundant data storage, so that you never lose any files. However, the 4D is the oldest Drobo, and as such it only has a USB 2.0 port. As such, file transfer is slow. Due to this, I would recommend one of the newer Drobos that I have listed below, these are the best prices you'll find! Drobo 5c - a USB C enabled Drobo, which holds 5 drives at exceptional speeds. https://amzn.to/2GL7bdB Drobo 5n - A networked attached (NAS) Drobo, which holds 5 drives https://amzn.to/2HiJMxc Drobo 5d - A USB 3.0 attached Drobo (DAS), which holds 5 drives. https://amzn.to/2HiKfPY
